Hello, hello, h-e-l-l-o somebody!  Welcome to the ever changing, diverse, colorful and energetic world of Young Performing Artists, Inc ...so affectionately called YPAs (the s is silent).

Our Mission is to identify and address the specialized needs of young (up to 22) performing and visual artists and to provide creative solutions to youth development.

Beverly Steele, our Founder, is a 2015 WEDU TV
Be More Entrepreneurial Finalist.  This award will recognize an individual who has distinguished himself or herself in the nonprofit community by engaging entrepreneurial skills to build a successful nonprofit endeavor.  The awards luncheon will be held at A La Carte Event Pavilion, 4050 Dana Shores Drive, Tampa, FL 33634, Thursday, February 12, 2015.

YPAs, Inc. received a trophy from the Lake County Commission and the Lake County Cultural Affairs Council for continued contributions to "The Arts" and for providing art and cultural activities and awareness to all Lake County citizens, especially the youth.

Goals & objectives
 

  • provide artistic scholarships,
  • provide opportunties for young people to access cultural awareness, enhancement, training and education, 
  • schedule performances, concerts and competitions for young artists and 
  • provide assistance to launch careers of young artists in the Entertainment and Arts Industries.

rom our original 69 members, YPAs, Inc. membership has grown to approximately 400+ young artists across the State of Florida.  We have enjoyed such corporate sponsorships as Walt Disney World, Marriott Hotels, SunTrust Bank, Johnny River's  Steakhouse, McDonald's, SR 44, LLC, T & D Concrete, Inc., Sumter Board of County Commissioners and many other state & local businesses.  Since our inception in 1998, we have provided approximately $30,000.00+ in scholarships and $325,000+ in services.  We have partnered with such fine entities as the Orange County Public Library, The City of Orlando, The City of Wildwood, National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice, Lake~Sumter Community College, Boys 'N Girls Clubs, Continental Country Club Women Group, Sumter County Historical Society, Sumter County Arts Guild, Royal Library Association, and Public, Chartered & Private Schools.  We have received program grants from Florida Departments of: Cultural Affairs, Health and Juvenile Justice.  We are thankful for our many volunteers who give their time, talents and financial support.
